Responsibilities of your role  

Reporting to the Managing Editor, this highly visible role is accountable for the planning and end-to-end production of our quarterly donor magazine and the annual report, as well as contributing campaign content for MSF Australia and New Zealand.  

With the overall objective of communicating MSF’s medical humanitarian action to audiences across Australia and New Zealand and within the MSF movement, this coordinator role will focus on increasing engagement and trust with supporters to strengthen our advocacy, awareness, fundraising, and recruitment work so we can continue to deliver high quality care to people who need it most.   

You will collaborate closely with the Fundraising, Digital, Programs and Medical teams and network internationally with editors and comms departments across the MSF movement. 

What you will bring  

As a creative communications professional with production skills and a passion for writing original content, you are recognised for your integrity and your talent for identifying story angles and your ability to speak out sensitively about complex and confronting topics.   

You will be motivated by supporting MSF’s mission of providing medical humanitarian aid and ideally can demonstrate:   

  • Magazine, newspaper, print publication experience or understanding of production processes 
  • Qualifications and experience in communications, journalism, or a related field, preferably within non-profits   
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills 
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication and editing skills  
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise with a broad range of stakeholders 
  • Project management experience will be well regarded.
