Responsibilities 

Reporting to the Community Engagement Coordinator this newly created part time contract position (3 days per week) will provide specialised event organisation to deliver high-level logistics and project management for in person and online events to support MSF Australia and New Zealand’s organisation objectives across brand, fundraising, recruitment, advocacy and awareness.

Contracted until the end of 2025 this crucial role will engage with our communities to coordinate the delivery of high quality events from planning through to execution and reporting. Your accountabilities will include budget oversight, risk analysis, and time management as well as providing recommendations for continuous improvements. 

Collaborating closely with internal teams you will develop annual events calendars for different departments and externally liaise with stakeholders to identify opportunities for MSF Spokespeople to participate in events across relevant sectors.

 

What you will bring

To be successful in this key role you will be known for your ability to manage multiple events simultaneously while ensuring quality and impact! Ideally you will be motivated by working in a humanitarian aid organisation and can demonstrate: 

  • Experience in an event management role (not-for-profit sector preferred). 
  • Knowledge of event planning regulations, permits, and compliance requirements. 
  • Budget management and financial tracking experience. 
  • Strong organisational skills for multitasking and meeting deadlines. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Strong negotiation skills for securing venues, sponsorships, and services. 
  • Ability to problem-solve and make decisions under pressure.
