Responsibilities of your role
Reporting to the Head of Domestic HR this newly created role will manage the outsourced payroll function and ensure the effective administration of the Payroll module in the HR Information System (ELMO) for MSF Australia.
As the operational owner of payroll, you will maintain employee and payroll data integrity and controls, manage payroll processing and review, and support the resolution of payroll and cross-system issues to ensure accurate, compliant and efficient payroll delivery and HR administration throughout the employee lifecycle for approximately 200 domestic and international staff.
This collaborative role will partner with other managers on strategic systems enhancements, projects and technology improvements, as well as working with other departments on payroll related interfaces with Salesforce and NetSuite.
What you will bring
To succeed in this key 3 days per week part-time role you will be confident interpreting employment conditions, payroll requirements and organisation policies to ensure compliant payroll outcomes and escalating complex matters when required. You are inspired by the opportunity to contribute to a humanitarian organisation and ideally can demonstrate:
- Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Business, Commerce or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated experience in HR Operations, payroll administration, or HR advisory/management roles.
- Experience managing end-to-end employee lifecycle administration, HR records, and HRIS/payroll systems (ELMO HR Core and Payroll highly regarded).
- Strong knowledge of Australian employment legislation, National Employment Standards, awards, and payroll compliance requirements, including PAYG, Superannuation and Single Touch Payroll.
- Experience coordinating outsourced payroll providers, including vendor management, performance monitoring, issue resolution, compliance oversight and stakeholder engagement.
- Proven ability to investigate and resolve payroll and data discrepancies across HR, payroll and finance systems.
- Sound understanding of payroll data integrity, reconciliations, HR systems, and data governance principles.
- Demonstrated experience developing procedures, improving business processes, and driving operational efficiencies.
- Strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in your work
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities
- An understanding of and alignment with MSF’s mission and values.
